Who Has Candida?

Are there any of you in the Hermitage, Sharon, West Middlesex and surrounding areas that suffer with candida? If so, I would love to get in contact with you to discuss how we are healing.

I have probably suffered with candida most of my life. It has only been in the last year that I knew I had candida. I am supposedly healed but I have so many problems because of it.

Every year, Hubs and I go to Walgreens for our flu vaccine. There is no waiting in long lines and they are courteous, fast and efficient.

You Can Get Your Eye Glasses Straightened For FREE At Walmart

I just want to tell you a little story.

I go to an eye doctor in Oil City. Really..... He is GREAT and I will never stop going to him, but..... He has two girls working for him that are CLUELESS....

I got new glasses August 18, Of course they always need to be adjusted. By the time Elizabeth was done adjusting them they were worse than when they started.    I made her adjust them 2 more times......no luck.
By this time I am starting to get a little hot under the collar.    I was sick  watching her bend my new metal frames back and forth.... I paid close to $500 for a pair of glasses I couldn't wear.    I leave Oil City and drive back to Hermitage.

Two days later, the nose pads on my new glasses are making my nose so sore that I can hardly stand it.   I told my Husband..... I have to go and get these glasses straightened.    Hubs needed to get new glass put into his frames so we decided to go to Walmart and get both done at the same time.

When I walked into Walmarts Vision Center in Hermitage, Pa., Cindy took one look at my glasses and knew EXACTLY what was wrong. She had to work a long time to undo what Elizabeth did or didn't do right in the first place.

Cindy has over 30 years experience so I knew I was in good hands.   I can now wear my $500 glasses thanks to Cindy.

Cindy.... If you read this.. Thank you so much!!! You are the BEST and Walmart should give you a huge raise and do everything they can do to make sure you never leave their store.    Because of you, I am now going to bring my perscriptions to Walmart and have them make my glasses.   Thank you again...

We have a great mall here in Hermitage, with many stores.

Not only can you shop at the mall, but if you want to walk this is a great place to do it, especially when the weather is not so great.

We Have Some Great Yard / Garage Sales

The Hermitage, Sharon area has some really great Garage ~ Yard Sales going on, usually anywhere from May through September. Depending on the weather. Check your local newspaper around Wednesday to see what is going on. Most of the sales will start, Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Sometimes they have them through the week or on a Sunday, but that is rare.

You will be suprised what you will find at a yard sale... we found some really old ski poles made of bamboo and only paid $1 for them.

This Friday night event is hosted by Tic Toc Food Mart... and what an event this is. Many people dust off their older model cars and bring them out for all to see.

This is FREE for you to come look at all these Classic Cars. This should bring back some fond old memories, looking at older model cars and listening to music provided by a DJ. You just might snag yourself a giveaway, or maybe you want to buy a raffle ticket.

If you get hungry, Pizza Joe's is the best, and I have that on good authority, just ask Beth Smith. Tic Toc also has food and beverages for you, and don't forget to fill up with gas while you are there.

Here we have a gorgeous 1949 Ford, Isn't she beautiful? Standing with her (below) is owner Beth Smith.

Here is another beauty, a 1994 Lincoln Town Car, even I can remember this car. Standing with her car is owner Patty Miller (below), her Husband, Howard Miller is nearby.

Whispering Pines Community Park

If you have never been to Whispering Pines, you should make it a point to check this beautiful place out.
Whispering Pines Park is located adjacent to the Hermitage Historical Society and across from the Hermitage VFW along East State Street, it consists of a parking lot, restrooms, open play area and approximately 1/2 mile of paved trails with an additional 1/2 mile of unpaved, grass trail. Pedestrians can also access the trails and park from a point along North Darby Road. The trails combine both open areas and beautiful wooded areas in the 22 acre park.

Look how nice the restrooms are....inside and out.

And these are the hard working guys who keep this park beautifully maintained. The City Workers of Hermitage. Thanks guys for all your hard work.

Whispering Pines Walking Trails

Buhl Farm Park Concerts

Every Sunday and Wednesday evening, in the summer concerts are held in the Performing Arts Building at Buhl Farm Park
Pictured, we listened to the Lawrence County Band. Playing the best big band music around. They were Sponsored by National City Bank of Pa.

I was very suprised and pleased at how much we enjoyed this band....And the concerts are free!!!! You can't beat that.

LindenPoint Walking Trails ~ Hermitage

Parking is available in two lots, one off Christy Road and there is another lot that you can get to from Innovation Way in Hermitage.

Pedestrians can access the trails at points along Christy Road, South Hermitage Road and Emilie Lane. There are now over 1.5 miles of paved trails winding through open and wooded areas of the campus.

This is such a beautiful place to take a stroll and the wooded areas are so nice.

Here is the spot you want to be if you want to view the dam.

When you see this sign, walk up to the office and they will answer any questions you have, plus give you a map if you want one.

Look how beautiful the view is.

This is a view of the dam from the lookout. You must walk back past the dam and up into the woods to get to this...although you can drive to it from another spot. This is such a beautiful sight.

For Visitors...The things to do at Shenango River Lake are boating, fishing, hiking, hunting, water sports, winter sports, wildlife viewing, off-highway vehicles and learning about the history.

Dr. Frederick Raisch Log Cabin Location: Sharpsville Community Park, Sharpsville, PA, along the Shenango River near Lock Number 10 of the Erie Extension Canal. Facilities: One-room pioneer era (1790-1810) log cabin. Contact: Mercer County Historical Society main office (724) 662-3490.
The house was not open to look inside but I walked around the outside and took pictures. This is located right near the Erie Extension Canal, at the Sharpsville Area Recreation Park.

These are both in the same spot, right next to the Raisch Log Cabin. This is such a beautiful place, with picnic tables and a very nice paved path to take a short stroll on.

The old Erie Extension Canal is located here, if you click on the above picture, you can read what the sign says.

There were a lot of fishermen on the Shenango River. This is just a beautiful place to visit.

You can walk this paved path until it ends in the woods, I did see a small path going through the woods but didn't follow it. This is a place that is well worth seeing.

If You Are In For Spooky, Weird, Strange Maybe even Haunted

Hogback Road is said to be the area that was and is still used by the KKK. It is said there were people were killed under this bridge. If you put your keys on the bridge for 5 minutes,Your car will not start. It is also said to be HAUNTED!!! We went in broad daylight on a sunny day, if you keep scrolling, you will see sun, plus a mist that came out of nowhere

Here is the sign that is at the beginning of Hogback Road.

This bent tree is right near the bridge....What could of cause it to bend like this? Nature or Spook?

So the story goes....If you leave your keys on the bridge for 5 minutes, your car possibly won't start.

We weren't sure where to leave our keys so we left them in this spot also......Our car started so...that shoots that fable. Maybe they had to be left on the old bridge that was torn down and a new one replaced.... below is what I believe to be the turnoff to where the old bridge was.

I am not sure, but I think this was the old road that led to the old bridge, we did not go back the road because we are not sure who owns it. We did not want to trespass.

Hogback Haunt...Fact or Fiction....You Be The Judge

Here we are on a nice sunny day, checking out Hogback Road that is said to be haunted....Where is all this mist coming from?

When I turned to take a picture of the road from the other direction....there is even more mist.

Just a little spooky if you ask me.

This is just one of the many places at Buhl Farm Park to picnic. It is right in with the playground, so if you don't have kids you may want to look at another area in Buhl Farm Park.
The above picture is one of the Pavilion with picnic tables.....this one is near the restrooms which is nice if you have kids.

There is even electric which is nice.....really nice.

There is this line of tables, plus one just like it to the right....as you can see, it will hold a lot of people.

Plus.....there are outside tables for those of you who don't want to rent the covered ones.

Buhl Farm Park Has a Great Play Ground for the kids...

In Fact there are 3 different places for the kids to play in this picnic area and you can see all three playgrounds from the pavilions.

They also have a Bocce court for the adults and older kids.

The Bocce Court is use by reservation only but I really don't think you would have many people wanting this. It looked to me like no one has played there for awhile. It is such a fun game that I am surprised..

Eight men gave thier lives in a mission to free their country men and this eternal flame burns before the monument in memory of them.

I am so happy that I went to see The Avenue of Flags and Very PROUD to be and American.

This Patriotic display is open to the public year round.
